Very nice. I suck with Maxillarias......... for the most part. Oh, that's too bad! I have found that lots of sun is the key with these.

I love your phrag.
I have about 60 phrags so let me know if you are ever interested in trading or have cultural questions or concerns. [
Are you a member of SOOS (Southern Ontario Orchid Society)? If not, you should consider joining as they have excellents resources, plant sales, etc...

Thank you!! Wow, 60 Phrags...what a dream! I adore them but only have 8 right now. I would be very interested in trading down the road! I've heard that the SOOS is wonderful (a member was encouraging me to join before) but it's just not feasable for me at the moment.

Awesome orchids , thanks for sharing! I have a maxillaria but it isn't doing much. It's still tiny though. I have a few other genus' but I'm learning slowly. Was never planning on getting into non carnivorous plants but here I am, obsessing over more cool stuff haha.

So you grow all yours in your home? Just in room temp and humidity? Yes! I put on a humidifier for them in the winter. This summer I experimented with a few orchids that like more sun and put them outside. For the most part they did really amazingly well, despite the cats playing with the leaves!

I have a grow room in my basement with six sets of lights and a laundry sink in the middle. I also have a three level plant stand in a northwest facing window (for paphs & phrags) and three southwest facing windowsill trays for my sun loving dends and phrags.
Maintaining Plant humidity is a challenge. In the basement I water one of three plant shelves every three days to avoid extremes of no or 100% humidity. I open the grow room door at night so temps can drop by about 15-20 deg (this really helps set blooming cycles). I put containers or trays of water between or below plants on windowsills but humidity is harder to regulate, especially when the furnace starts up!
Of late I have been buying flasks from Orchid Inn and then grow plants from seedling through bloom. I sell or give away most and only keep a few for myself.

Awesome richteri.
I love all the green phrags.
I started w hirtzi and now have six or seven different species.
You should check out J-P Fausts incredible number of green and brown hybrid phrags. Many can be found on the slippertalk forum or the slipperorchids photo library (both awesome resources).
