I have an assortment of drosera seeds started about 4 weeks ago, of the 11 I have growth started from D. burmanii, D. aliciae, and D. capensis. I also started some dionea but will post this on another thread. I am starting to play around with macro photography and hope to follow the early stages of seed growth for our communal viewing pleasure. D. aliciaD. capensisD. burmaniiI will keep more coming hopefully every few weeks or so, and I will try to maintain the same view and exact plant for comparison.

Hi RuBisCO - Nice start on a good variety of dews! And amazing photos as always! Wonderful detail on the first true leaves of some very tiny plants. Keep them coming.

little update. unfortunately I lost my burmanii RIP, a couple updated photos made it here however D. capillarisD. aliciae
D. capensis 'red' Foolish attempt at minuscule feeding stunted some of these guys and killed my burmanii. Overall a very poor germination rate I achieved with the many seeds that I attempted from one of the online suppliers.

I have some seeds going right now. My one question is, how do I know if they have germinated. Or how long should I be waiting before I give up on them. Im pretty darn new to this.

Don't give up on them, some take their sweet time and pop up after like three months! You will see the seedlings growing once they germinated, should be easy to spot if you have a magnifying glass.

Maybe I should go by a magnifying glass? Where can I get one? Walmart?

I have a 10x, 20x and 30x magnifier coming in from amazon either tomorrow or Tuesday, so Ill be able to take a better look at the pots then. I don't want to get my hopes up to high though lol.
Whats the magnification you are using there?
