I remember that Club. I told a friend of mine in Vancouver about a meeting and he went to it. He went to a bog and bought me some Ceph's.

I liked the S. purpurea silhouette that used to grace our site. I think Vraev made it. It's a good symbol for Canadian CPs and it was simple and memorable. Maybe we can come up with a name that makes a cool acronym, although there are few words with 2 'C's a 'P' and something else. I did a search for that logo but "OCPS carnivorous" in Google just throws up this photo.

Anybody noticed that there isn't a saint of Carnivorous plants? There are patron saints for gardeners and also for crops. Maybe they could be called upon for a bit of extra help and protection when things are going sideways in the growroom/greenhouse. dvgt

"Association" is another official-sounding word, but not quite so specific as "Society" Good point hal! This has been an interesting (and entertaining) read. All jokes aside... Technically (and respectfully), if we are not an official society should we be calling ourselves a society? Don't get me wrong, I believe this is the best forum out there and if it one day became a society I would join as a member, buy the shirt and donate plants and bake cookies for the society fundraising raffle. Does having a few forum member get-togethers make it a society? I'm not sure. To also name it a society just to feel good about ourselves to me kind of feels like mislabeling a plant to make it sound sexier. I am not a doctor therefore I do not call myself a doctor.(Dr. Kdawg does have a nice ring to it though). Regardless, at the end of the day this is a forum which is a platform for quality communication. If you where to make it The Canadian Carnivorous Plant Society, great! But, it would this would still be the CCPS forum or the CCPSF. That's my two cents. (for the American forum members that's worth about 3.2 cents)
