The plan is to keep them for eggs but if we have too many males we might have to once they are big enough :x

No longer needing the box incubation setup since they have their feathers now

They've been outside for a while now and started to lay eggs. This was what they were in before we made a bigger cage

...nice work Dany, very impressive. Would you be able to do the same thing with chicken eggs? I've always wanted a few chickens around for fresh eggs.

Haha after this batch, I don't think we're doing anything with fowls because they stink!

That's cool! They are really nice looking. My neighbours keep a few chickens in his yard so I asume it would works too. As long as there's no rooster around !

Sad to say that something (a raccoon?) broke through the hardwire cloth + killed all the quails through the cage Not sure if we will try again with more reinforcement

Whoa cool quails! I used to incubate duck and chicken eggs, but I wouldn't know what to do with quails right now D: If I had the space I'd love to try raising some

Yeah they do require quite a bit of space.. I'm going to try button quails this year for fun. I'll keep you posted if I do follow through Here are more pictures of the setup The 'outside' area with water The 'inside' with the food (it is always covered and provides shade) This white quail that was hatched with our other quails
