...thanks for the kind words of inspiration gentlemen, that Motown Mojo really did the trick! I will keep on gettin' it on. On a side note, I may have shot myself in the foot on this one. This thread doesn't at all go well with my Golden Cilia 2016 contest, there's a definite conflict of interest! I guess I didn't think this one through completely. As the great philosopher Homer Simpson once said, "D'oh"!

...even though I was ready to get 'gettin' it on' some more, this will be the last Act. All flowers have opened and have otherwise been pollinated or corrupted in ways unbeknownst to me. Keeping in tune with the Motown Mojo, my Dionaea Muscipula 'All Green' has now been dubbed Al Green. There are only two more unopened flowers left.... - Sexing Venus, Act XI - Dragon's Fire and BCP F5 ...These are a couple of really fantastic cultivars. They are Devon's plants in my possession. I started this with a couple of his, fitting to end it with two of his as well. DVG, there is no way I could've gotten to 50!!!, can't do this full time. Gotta keep the day job you know. . Thanks for being a part of this. This was the boring part, germination and seedling growth will be the exciting! (sorry, that's my Polak grammar). AV.

...in the RedFern Dionaea book it states that Dionaea 'Wacky Traps' is unable to produce fertile seed due to its deformed stigmas. In the same book, it states that Lucien Blancher crossbred 'Wacky Traps' (seed plant) and "Trichterfalle" (pollen plant). His cross produced my White Whale, "Mrs. Pimbeche". Either way I consider this a small success... Sexing Venus - Act II Here is a pic of my Wacky Traps flower scape taken today. There are at least 3 seeds in one of the pods so far. Viability is another matter. Thanks for looking and Happy Growing! Also, I hope my pic can be seen. AV.

Oh Man! amanitovirosa produces great seed! Pretty sexy. Here is a sneak preview of one of the Acts (Act 4) which I am honoured to be a small part of. It appears this act got a 115% success rate (or perhaps I miscounted seed at planting:). It's not a great pic but under the microscope some are looking freaky werewolfy already. Congrats amanitovirosa!

...Excellent!!!, 115% germination rate???, hmmm, must be some 'strange variables' at the Asylum. Be that as it may, this is a success for me as it was my first time crossing/pollinating anything. Great work Kdawg, could be some cool plants there! Very exciting stuff! My seeds will be going in soon, great way to pass the Winter months. I've been away but my new, two storey shed/greenhouse is coming along nicely. Cheers!

Haha, Yes, the 115% may have been a result of "fat finger syndrome" during planting:) X2 on What RuBisCo said! Cant wait to see the new factory!

...so I finally finished my new germination chamber and seeded all of my Sexing Venus seeds along with a bunch of other stuff... ...it's semi automated. I wanted to try to add more oxygen to the water to see if it is advantageous, instead of just having the pots sitting in 'dead' water. There's an aerator in the supply tank and a pump circulates the water at an interval that I have not determined yet. The overflow out leaves the pots sitting in about a half inch of water. It's made out of cedar mini two by fours (2 X 4 ripped to 1 1/2" x 1") and 1" reflective styro. Love that cedar smell! ...these seeds were harvested in Jul/Aug, I should've done this much sooner but just didn't have the time. Thanks for looking and Happy Growing! AV. ...now back to the Observatorium...............Cheers!

Hi AV - A-MAZ-ING! Your builds are always inspirational! Which is why I hate your updates - makes me want to head down to the basement this weekend and build something new. And I just don't have the time. So thanks a lot! I'm sure you will be growing VFT's like never before with that baby. Nice work!

Very nice work, once again AV!
You've shown some good gritty effort getting those seeds in their pots.
Hopefully you'll be rewarded for your efforts, though I've found that tending to these plants is reward in and of itself.

...thank you for the compliments Gentlemen, very kind of you both. Whenever building something like this, always remember to put the reflective side in, not out, haha! Fingers crossed for some decent germination otherwise this was a waste of time. Stay warm!
