The Lid is really nice, did you make it yourself or buy it?

I made it out of 2024 T3 aircraft aluminum because it's corrosion resistant and reflective.

Very nice...but i would be really careful about heat buildup in there. Although for the types of plants you currently have, it shouldn't be a major issue.

Hi thanks it seems to peak between 25-30 Celsius but I plan on hooking the fan to a thermostat.

Thought I would take some pictures of my lid since a couple people commented on it. I went for simple and cheap. The plants seem to be loving it and have started to show some red colouring. Temps hover around 25C during the day and 20C at night. One sheet of aluminum two pigtails from Home Depot $4 each and 23w 6500k cfl bulbs. The fan u removed from an old pc and it is hooked to a 12v power supply I had laying around. I think it was for an old phone or something.

What are you intending to grow? And what will be the distance between the bulbs and the plants? The reason I ask is because many CPs require more PARs than can be produced by coiled fluorescent bulbs.

It's about 6 inches between the bulbs and the plants.

Your setup will work fine with pings and neps, but I think that the sarrs, dews, and VFTs will struggle under this kind of lighting.

Yeah, they'll do fine for a time. Even grow vigorously for a bit, but it will be more akin to etoliation although the signs won't be apparent at first. Give it about six or eight months, and you'll probably start to see a decline. Hey, you don't have to take my word for it. Time will tell.
