Really nice set-up but way too costly. You can heat the set-up but not cool it.

That is cool, and I disagree about the price. With everything that is has it is a good deal if you get in on the kickstarter. Heck its not bad even at msrp.

I've signed on for the Aqua. My poor wee foundlings have been putting up a brave front to my bumbling along trying to convert marine liverock principles to land. I've never spent much time around reptiles. Their enclosures were as enlightened as a 50s zoo. So if this can help point strongly towards meeting their physical needs then the rest is easier to have energy for. Finding solid info for helping a shunned species is a challenge even for those without memory or fatigue issues. I think they have managed to offer the tools at a good price for what you get. That doesn't mean that everybody needs all those tools though. Its an expensive gadget to learn about ecosystems while far cheaper than university. I'm confident that they can make it safe for what goes into it.

Personally it is a lot of "flash" for the purposes of a serious tank....atleast if you want it for CPs. I guess you can definitely use ti for frogs or something. For that sense...its a good value...considering an exoterra itself is around 250$ at the terra size...and then add on the misting system and LED and soon you will reach that price. But I definitely wouldn't consider it if you are trying to grow CPs. Just too small...and not going to be enough air movement/exchange

Hi Varun - I'm glad you weighed in! My first though on seeing this was "awesome, that looks like the sort of thing Varun could build". For folks like me, with little ability to build anything that doesn't look like a waste heap from a hardware store, these BioPods seem like they might be a nice option for small display.

You are too kind my friend. I really like the custom tailored design that they have built for this. Without a knowledge in 3D design, engineering & circuitry, I definitely can't build something as clean as that. But my calms is about issues with using something like that for CPs. Air circulation is the major concern for me. Perhaps removing the top would help...but then you would have a heat issue. The other thing is the size... even at the TERRA version, the size is smaller than my exo terra medium low: the width is only 15" ?? (IIRC). The heating is not necessary IMO. If this thing had a cooling setup somehow...man...I would get it in a heartbeat. Just to give it a shot. Then the issue with lighting. I am sure it should be enough...but perhaps not enough for my OCD levels. I need that red in my flytraps/nepenthes/cephalotus. Btw... I also don't see the misting system in the prototypes anywhere. Where is the nozzle they show in the video? Where will the reservoir be? On top of that...they mention..O2 injection. It sounds impressive...but I don't see a source of O2... I don't see any sort of air pump or anything...how is that hooked up to the front ? There is no pipes. It must be passive intake. Btw... for those who aren't regular visitors to petsmart... Exo terra has a competitor. None other than National Geographic. Clearly Nat Geo has got some third party making the products and then slapping their label onto them. It is another option for those who want to do this from scratch. There are things in here I really like. The vent in one of the panels. Can be clearly used for a fogger. Very nice. The panels are removable. The lines are clean and black metal IMO...better than the plastic railing of the exo terra. I just really hate the top brace. Anyways... for sure... bottom line...price wise...the Biopod is compelling. If anyone here manages to get one....please do share some impressions and a review.
