Nice! Looks kinda like mine. How many seeds sprouted? I bought some off eBay and only about 25% sprouted (~13/50)

Yes unlike the weeds I bought from a Hong Kong eBay seller lol. I'm excited to identify them all once they get bigger!

Your seedlings look great. You can really only identify them as 'typical'. You can cross a B52 with a B52 but the seedlings are still classified as typical, and there is nothing wrong with typicals. Maybe you might end up with a new special VFT!

Not really.. B52xself will be B52F1.
A typical dionaea is the genus growing insitu, with typical morphology. You cannot have a typical dionaea if you cross 2 cultivars.

So are you saying that lets say he has a VFT from 'B52xself' he could sell it as a B52? No he can't. It is a typical, maybe with B52 traits. The only way it is a B52 is if it is propagated from B52 tissue. Correct me if this is wrong. I don't mind. Lol

A typical dionaea is the typical form insitu. With the typical morphology. If you cross a cultivar with another cultivar, it will be a F1 plant. You cannot sell this plant as a typical, and you cannot sell that plant as B52. The genetic will be different, even if the plant look identical. Francois

Ohh taxonomy sometimes the natural world just doesn't fit into our 'boxes'.
Different typical form Dionaea plants in situ could display the same/similar morphology but vary genetically themselves...
