Thanks, Pete. The flower looks like mine did. How about the leaves? As I remember they were narrower and thicker than a typical moranensis (like an agnata) and had a red tinge. Hal, here is a photo taken today. The plant is still winter leaf mode. All the P. moranensis types are a bit different in NZ. This looks more like them than the two P. aganata we have. I will post a photo when it gets back into summer leaf mode.

Thanks Pete,
Looks very similar to the one I had. Mine was always a lighter green, but I find Ping leaf colour can change with the season or plant age.

Great collection of pings kiwipete!
I was wondering if you could share some of your experience with potting media. Do you have a generic mix, and if so would you be willing to share it's composition?
I am presently using the following for my tropical pings:
Substrate: hydroton clay balls (bottom 1/3 of pot)
Media: 30% Refined peat (soaked in rainwater to leach out some surplus minerals & elements) 20% perlite 20% vermiculite 20% silica sand 10% sumisoil (activated charcoal w ceramic coating, roughly 2-3 mm in dia. Note: I add some calcium (rinsed, crushed oyster shells) to pings that are ph sensitive such as those hybrids w moctezumae.
