I sowed some fresh droso seed last year , hoping for some much better results from past experiences in my G/H trying to grow these plants, after asking a friend in CZ EU on the conditions that he saw at the sites in Spain , I realized that our climate is very similar,so just put the very large pot outside the G/h and this is the result , the mix is 70% silica sand 20% peat and the rest is made up of different lava rock and perlite as just fillers and break up the hardens of the mix ,keep it more open just starting photo taken on Oct 3 2014 the photo is taken on around mid April 2015 it's increased in size again now ,dont look like stop growing all though now being winter it probably will slow down, but our day here are still over 15c day time temps , the honey dew sent off these plants is extremely strong and the amounts of pray they catch is truly amazing as well J

in summer i put the huge pot in a kitty litter try 3/4 full of rain water and never water from the top , now in winter its just on the soak beach with no try or water as its cool enough and wet enough for it , ,we find top water seems to kill this plant off, yet rain is quite ok ?? dont know why ,its just how it is !!
