Haven't heard if any of you have had any success with germination yet.
Tried a test germination pot that was filled with a half peat/half sand mix.
Then one half of the top of that pot was covered with LFS to see if the seeds germinated better on the peat/sand or LFS mix covering.
The seeds were sown back on March 18.
They were placed in a propagation dome with a heat mat.
The pot was kept warm and moist with high humidity, at first.
A few weeks ago, the heat mat was unplugged and the pot was moved to the back corner of the propagation dome, where it was about two feet away from being directly any light source.
Last weekend, I checked in on the seeds and found about a dozen or so that have just recently sprouted.
So if any of you are still waiting on seeds to germinate, keep patient and hopefully yours will sprout soon too.

Thanks for posting this dvg.
I did a similar experiment sowing seeds on media of: live Sphagnum, LFS, peat/silica-sand mix, and 100% vermiculite.
I haven't had any germination from any of the veitchii seeds so far, though I've started to have good germination from some other Nep seeds sown around the same time that are in the same humidity dome. I certainly haven't given up hope but it's great to hear that you've had some germinate.
Thanks again!

I was able to successfully sterilize the seeds and put them on agar for tissue culture but no germination yet. Some of them were treated with gibberellic acid but it has had no effect.

Thanks again for this Doug! I've got a little over a dozen sprouting so far, they're just on the usual 2:1:3 peat:coir:perlite mix top-dressed with 1:1 peat:coir. The tray is on an upper shelf for the higher temps, and they get misted as often as possible.

I have a few sprouts. They're being kept at pretty cool temperatures on a mix largely composed of silica sand. I expect the lower temps are slowing them down a bit, but it's all I have to work with at the moment.

Great to hear that some of you are also getting some of these seeds to pop.
Wasn't sure that these were going to be viable or not, as hadn't seen any germination until I checked in on them again last weekend.
Hope the rest of you start to see some sprouting seeds very soon, too.

Here is a pic from earlier today of a test batch of these N. veitchii seedlings. The pot is still under a dome and not directly under a light, nor fertilized, hence little algal growth and just a few moss strands beginning to pop up. How are the rest of yours doing...any pics? dvg

Cool, you'll have a basement full of N. Veitchii in no time.

Here's a picture of one of the veitchii seedlings in tissue culture. I have not had a great deal of luck germinating Nepenthes in tissue culture. No contamination but they are just not germinating. I don't think it is my sterilization process because I do get other seeds to germinate. Hopefully the veitchii grow quickly now that they have sprouted. These are the maxima I have and I have just put them in multiplication media.

Looking good there Doug! I like to see CPs in TC, especially from our local members here. Best of luck with your Nep babies. dvg

I have a few humble seedlings going. Had a pretty bad moss takeover and the seedlings couldn't compete, poor things. Thanks Doug!

Nice looking seedlings guys. Dvg it looks like you got the best germination rate of anyone that's posted so far. Avery those seedlings look really nice, yours have much more colouring than mine. I have about 7-8 seedling survivors from this batch, I think my germination rate suffered a bit because my setup is for Highlanders and probably ran a bit cool. Anyway here are a few of them, thanks so much for this generous offer dvg, It will be exciting to see our seedlings unique traits develop over the next few years.
