U. quelchii flowering? That's as hard core as Maiden's taste in music.

Can't wait to see the U. quelchii flowers! Does it growing fairly quickly for you? Thanks Justin. Actually its a not a very consistent plant for me. It grows for a long while under the media without anything apparent on the top. But then, later it starts growing more "seasonally". Leaves in waves. But I think my media is going bad. The U. quelchii is more spreading laterally into the live sphagnum of other pots. I am not seeing as many roots at the bottom...everything out there is dying. I was going to open it up and repot it ...but then I noticed these flowers a week ago. It remains to be seen how long the flowers take to develop. Thanks Lloyd.

The beauty of N. singlana. A fantastic species. I am so glad that this plant came back from oblivion to make such a nice pitcher. Took 2 yrs to recover.

Gorgeous lighting very vibrant and bright. Question: Can vft's be grown inside terrariums year round without being dug up for dormancy?

Not really. Dormancy is required. I'm still trying to work that out

Thanks Avery. I still don't know what triggered the flowering. Good luck with it. I find that this specific species grows in waves. I don't know if it was saving energy, but it stopped growing for a while. Hopefully it should get back to growth soon.

Here is finally the other utric I have in flower. The flower stalk of this is the longest ever. It basically grew down a root into the bottom of the tank...winded to the corner (12" away)...then started a flower stalk from there...(basically it loves the water at the bottom of the tank now)...and it put out the stalk along the front rim of the doors of the tank...to over 18"...then it popped up. Beautiful eh? Hard to photograph as it is facing inside the tank. U. x jitka Then a random cute unexpected flower. A Trisetella strumosa. Love it...sooo cute.

Thanks. I really appreciate it. I unfortunately couldn't get a good pic with my DSLR. the angle just didn't work for the tripod.

Hey Varun, looking very nice! How's your little N. villosa doing? Also, has your H. pulchella put out any adult pitchers yet? Mine is growing and clumping like crazy, but no mature pitchers. Could be residual effects of TC..!
