Ok thanx, I will keep a eye out for them. About cold stratification are all needing the same time period (except the VFT's or do each have their own requirements' for a strat?? sorry to have kept asking about them I was going to turn my 1 gallon fishbowl into a planted Temperarate and transfer some to pots as they grew is this a bad ide? oh the fishbowl is clear glass

I no longer have the space inside for CP's or any plants so I put pots outside I got what looked like a small cabbage in my sarracenia pot that was gone the next day(probably birds or cold air although it did not get too cold) my2 surviving VFT's seemed to have died back and it just looks like a pot of soil(same for the purps) Is it possible I tricked the plants into a early dormancy? What could happen if I force them awake thin summer so I can give them a dormancy on time?

if all the foliage has gone in a short space of time, then it has been removed not died or entered dormancy. When did you put them out and how soon did the foliage disappear and did it go brown/black first?
Cheers steve

My Purp pot showed nothing then I got what looked like a small cabbage then overnight it was gone same with my VFT seedlings now both pots look like 2 pots of just media the purp pot was put was put outside before the winter with seeds to get stratified. the VFT seedling were put outside about a month ago when spring broke here and it started to warm up I was a little concerned they went so fast so I asked Lloyd and he said if they were not protected from animals its possible a animal like a cat got them or maybe birds got them they were uncovered because last year this did not happen but then I had a adults Capensis , 2typicals , 1 Big Jaws VFT I got seven traps from and 1 typical got 8 new leaves and the other had 9 new leaves! one during repotting I saved when the root was snapped...2 months and the damaged one had a new trap coming up so I did know a little but still lost the seeds I think but hope not, and plants last year I got seeds coming in the mail so I will get mesh to protect any seedlings I get. Oh, the Capensis started dormancy last year, it died back to the surface and formed a 10 leaf rosette but did catch a fly a few weeks prior when it had dewy traps. I know they do not need dormancy but have no other explanation for what it did, it was planted in a 2 liter ice cream container on a low shelf in a green house and got lots of sunlight.(the roots were almost 3 inches long when I planted it in the 2 liter container) But this year had me baffled!
I am in for a real test I got seeds coming for Sarrs, cobra lilies,Sundews,VFT's Hope I pass and have them flower then get seeds lol !!

I used Amazon when I got a VFT shipped to me and arrived dead in the box They offered to refund my credit card or send me a replacement for it I chose the latter and they sent me another plant. My plant was sent standard mail and the replacement was sent by Amazon 1st class priority mail!! Amazon seems to be easy to deal with when it comes to customer service

A/C Some plants just cant be grown properly without some equipment. In my setup, without my A/C, its gonna be byebye helis. Even at only 25C outside. Thats mean 27C in my appartment, 29C in my terras, and 33C with the lights on. So, just imagine 30C outside. Impossible growing helis in these conditions, exept 2-3 species/hybrids. And they will not thrive at all. The leaves will have red/rust spots on them, and other pests problem. They will grow, but at 50%. See Maiden I respectfully have to disagree I mean these plants make it in the wild but once someone grows them they need special media, water, light cycles.temperatures etc Case & Point A/C does not exist in the wild yet they need it once people try growing them.
