No I believe that they need small live food. I collected a container of pond water. The nice crystal clear stuff is no good, you need the dirty water teaming with life. Keep this somewhere which gets some light and doesn't get too hot nor too cold. Now every now and then add a tiny bit of this water to the U. gibba.
I'm not sure if that is "proper" but that is what I have been doing for my Utrics and they seem to like it.

I don't like to brag but I must be the King of U. gibba. It is growing in a slimy mass all over the bottom of my terrariums with tons of flowers all the time. I use those plastic terrariums with a bottom of channels for drainage water. The water is the water shared by all the pots from mostly dews in peat/silica sand. When it gets low I top it off with distilled water either poured straight in or into the CP pots. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of algae or slime but it's all natural-I don't interfere except as noted above. There's no fuss involved and the stuff grows like crazy.

U longifolia is super easy for me too. Had some in a pot in a tray with a few sundews and before you know it, it had spread from the drainage hole all over the tray. Never tried U. gibba before but I'd love to. When I started with CPs I didn't pay much attention to Utrics but now that I've gotten a few I'm starting to like them more and more.

I don't do anything special to them; I just ignore the plant and fill the tray as needed for my sundews. I don't feed them at all, but I've heard of some people adding daphnia to feed them.

I might try some DBW's ground into powder and add it to the water to see if the U.Gibba eats them with my luck the plant will grow too large for the container lol !! If not then I guess I need to change the water !!

I've never fed Utrics of any kind. I used to have a forest of longifolia growing in plain aquarium gravel in my nep terrarium. Never watered except for the drainage from the nep pots.

I am the gibba dictator, I am about to mass-execute an entire bowl for their attempts to overthrow the Aldrovanda bins, in full view of the other plants to make sure the message is understood by all.
In an additional act of cruelty, I intend to mail the bodies far and wide. Any takers?

I guess I will be the Coroner of Gibba Affairs I need all people on hand to make sure this "Full out Carnivore" who we can only call bonfield doesn't strike again Too many were lost... too many... and as a question how do you expect to kill off the U.Gibba? there might be some in hiding

I already have people willing to accept the bodies, my war crimes will be covered up soon enough. As for any remaining "insurgents", I will go after them utilizing "dirty war" tactics(digging through a bowl of gibba gets messy after the first couple strata of muck).
