Wow... In Toronto, it feels like spring, messed up weather. Would the plants outside thinks its spring and come out of dormacy and face the harsh weather soon?

I was wondering about that seeing as we're hitting highs of 5 and 6 degrees. I think that as long as the ground remains frozen they'll be OK.

Don;t know about you guys in TO, but south of you our ground is already thawed, I believe we are to get up to 8 today. our thaw started before christmas, but the nights were cool, not so much now. I'm more concerned with my seeds outside! Sib

Yeah, I'll have to go check my rotundifolias at some point. I've been piling what snow remains on top as that keeps them insulated and out of the wind, plus there is some burlap on them. They've lived in this area for thousands of years so I'm sure they've seen a January thaw or two before.
