P. Moranensis x gypsicola. It must be showing its summer leaves, yet they look succulent to me like hens and chicks. A leaf division will be all yours.

No mulch at all. As soon as the temperature gets below freezing the snow starts to pile up and it stays untill late April. I plant temperature loggers each year and the soil temperature never drops much below zero. Here in Niagara though the snow all melts mid winter then the freeze returns so I can never over winter VFTs (at least without mulch).
