Now the ones that were turning orange are turning red!
I want my money back!
😀
No wonder they are so hot.

Haha Lloyd! Those definitely sound like they have hybridized with something. Peppers can be so promiscuous at inopportune times. Oh well, they are what they are...Enjoy! dvg

My Aji Tunas are the same shape as the Aji Lemons but they are bright red. And HOT! My wife put some thin shavings in our dinner and you had to be careful to have a little bit in a forkful of food or you choked. Even then my stomach was feeling pretty warm afterward.

Hi Lloyd, I believe the Aji Lemon must have been cross pollinated with one of my Sugar Rush peppers last season.
I didn't think the Sugar Rush pods would even turn color, but they did later on in the season, turning from pale green to orange and then finally to red, just as your plant did.
Some seed collectors will try to isolate the flowers to prevent cross pollination.
The Aji Lemon is definitely worth trying and growing again though - a great pepper in my estimation.
I'll send you some of the original Aji Lemon seeds that I purchased from Aji Joe.
Apologies for the mix-up in seeds.

No apologies needed, they look great and I'll either eat/give away or make some hot sauce. I'd love to try the Lemons for next year, thanks.

Any Pics?
Do the yellow pods have a lemon/citrus smell when they are chopped up?
You might have a true Aji Lemon plants with those yellow colored pods.

I'll have to try one. They are identical to the picture you posted.

They should also have a citrus flavor, but with less heat than your Aji Tuna pods had.
