Im waiting for my seeds, but i think its too late for this year. I will start them next january.

I dont know how many time it will take for the plant to make fruits, but i think im a lil late for this year. Maybe i will try a seed or 2

You are definitely late by a bit, unfortunately- the superhots are mostly equatorial-ish, their growing season is LONG, and it takes a bunch of time to make them truly awesome- indoors would definitely work- every time I brought pepper plants inside I had whiteflies EVERYWHERES so watch out for that.

Bah, i will grow these pepper plants in my plants room with 100+ carnivorous plants. Its will be a white flies eating fest But like you said, im late. The bhut jolokia take from 120 to 160 days to produce fruits. If i sow my seeds next january, the timing will be perfect. Im wondering if i can keep the seeds in a dry place until then, or in the fridge..

Was so nice yesterday here, +14C, that some pepper starts for this year were able to get some late day sun. Beside the usual jalapenos, habaneros and scotch bonnets, this year there will be some rocotos in the mix. These rocotos are supposed to be early, productive and short plants. And because rocotos handle cold better than most peppers, maybe they'll appreciate our summer's cool nights here too. dvg

Haha, it looks sort of granular because that is a topdressing of coarse sand on top of the media. The sand top dressing helps keep the fungus gnats and scariad flies from getting into the seedling pots to lay eggs. There are two very swampy Darlingtonia seedling pots just two feet away from the pepper starts and the Darling pots are a scariad fly factory. As for my media mix, it was just something I threw together from some left over bags of peat, sand, African violet mix and compost. So far, so good. dvg

Couple shots of a small fatalii pepper, now potted up into a larger pot, and fertilized yesterday... ...should be ready now for the warm days ahead. Hehe, a bodybuilding amphibian? Looks like he worked those weak forelegs into a mean pair of pumped up drumsticks... ...that'll leave his bog mates green with envy. dvg

Wow....pretty nice.
For the first time ever I saw some of the dried Bhut Jholka (Ghost peppers) at the Fat Bastards fast food chain. I was going to go for the extra hot on my burrito (sp?) and the lady warned me against it and just added a few drops. OMG! It was insane.... my digestive tract did not like it at all...and the funny thing apparently is that they may not even have used ghost pepper in it. Just locally grown fresh peppers used to make fresh sauce. I don't even want to imagine how spicy this thing can be. Colour me impressed if you can actually eat these peppers in any form. lol

Thanks, and yes those superhot peppers, ie. scorpions, 7Pots and the bhut clan are all over the top hot and are best used with some respect and even more caution. I'm growing one called the Fatalii Gourmet Jigsaw this year. (link below) fatalii.net/FG_JigsawThe creator of this pepper claimed of the over 3,000 different pepper varieties he had personally tasted, this Jigsaw was the only pepper that made his tongue go immediately numb, like being at the dentist, and claimed once the numbness went away, that the pain was horrible... ...at least it has a good flavor. dvg

Here are some pics from yesterday... This is a purple Jalapeno...pods should ripen to red when mature. This is a Sugar Rush hybrid...has some chinense in there with the baccatum. Here is another Sugar Rush pod...looks like an elf's shoe. PI 585239...some baccy pods shaping up. Burkina Yellow with some pods ripening. A fine bunch of coconuts on my Petenero The ripe Cumari do Para stands out from its green peers. And my 'Evil' Jonah 7Pot. dvg
