Hey everyone, I was skimming through my pics and I found these ones... I forgot to post them in the summer, so I thought I would now just to keep the summer spirit going... or, whatever. ;D The poor seedling must have been under lots of stress for some reason! I am not sure if I still have this plant, or if it might do it again this spring? Anyway.... it was pretty cool to look at, the flower was bigger than the entire plant! Thanks for looking!

wow!! that is sooo wierd. LOL! I know there is supposed to be a miniature variant of DM that is supposed to do this. Perhaps your seedling coincidentally has a similar genetic code to that cultivar. It would be nice if it holds that size and stays healthy.

Is the one your thinking of Cudo, or petite dragon? Oh I wish I could get petite dragon... it looks interesting.

Sure hope so Hal! Good news about the seedling... I was looking around in my fridge to see if everything in dormancy was still alive, and I found the seedling! I could easily tell because it still has the two stalks on them. Does anyone think I could take my flytrap seedlings out of dormancy early? I'm affraid if I do it it will completely screw their growing season up.

I would think it's a little early now but you can always take them out early and start them under lights or in a window.
You just have to make sure they get a long enough dormancy or they're not going to have any vigor next season.
Some genera of plants will never thrive as adults unless they get the proper dormancy as seedlings.
I'm no expert on VFT so I'll let someone else shout out minimum number for how long they should stay dormant.

I just checked and mine look really healthy in the garage (~freezing). I'm not taking them out till the hard frosts are over, likely early April.
