I had problems with my terran utrics, first U. Sandersonii stopped blooming, then it and U. Longifolia, U. bisquamata, and one other really easy utric died back to a green fuzz in the pots. I asked Mabs about this, and he told me that even Barry Rice has noted terran utrics tend to use up the media, and mabs reccomended I try changing the soil. How often should one change the soil mix for terran utrics to keep them nice, flowering and happy? By the way, these urtics have not returned to their former glory after repotting, but then I only chnged the media two weeks ago.

Actually, I've found that utrics need lots of light to keep them happy enough to bloom regularly. And I'd say that this is true of all the species that you've mentioned here. Utrics can exhaust a media if it is say peat/sand, but that can take over a year (or more) to occur. Quite frankly, I seldom have an issue with this because when I repot, I don't repot the whole pot. I just cut the utric in half and fill the empty half with new media, which the utrics are happy to invade. In the case of longifolia, I grow them in live sphagnum, so I never change the media.
Just some quick thoughts on utrics.
