Hey Guys,
I just received my kheen's order, and one of the plants was Byblis liniflora. When I opened it up, it was all brown and smelly (no visible mold). It looks dead.
What should I do, I don't think it made any seeds... should I contact Kheen's about this?
Thanks in advance!!

Byblis REALLY hate being shipped- IIRC California Carnivores won't even ship plants of the species- heck mine died when I moved it inside, so putting it in a box would probably wreak havoc on it.
I would go ahead and contact the sender- if you really want Byblis, better to start them from seeds- they grow real fast compared to most other CPs

Yes, I recently got a dead Byblis from Kheens too. I contacted him about mine. He will refund you the money if you send him a picture of its dead corpse. Or, if you like, get another by express post if you don't mind paying for that $$. He is thinking about restricting the shipment of byblis beyond Alberta unless people choose express post. Me, I am having one heck of a time trying to grow it from seed.

Oh I didn't say it was necessarily simple. I tried a few times with fresh seeds before I got them to grow, they were flowering within a month or so of sprouting.
What I did was to mix up a little bit of peat with a lot of perlite and sphagnum moss all chopped up, then (and this is what worked for me) after having failed repeatedly indoors, I put a little dome over them to protect them from rain and set them outside in a tray- they sprouted fairly soon after setting this up
Don't know how useful that is- some people have problems STOPPING Byblis from growing but usually the problem is getting them started

I doubt you guys Byblis's are dead, mine came a dark color, Keehn told me they turned that color in intense light! and he was right it has dew, and making new leaves and such. This is what mine looks like:

I don't have a camera that I could post a picture of my byblis, but the poor thing is all black, mushy, smelly, and looks like it has been through a small scale nuclear event.
