Just don't be too obsessed about there requirements if you feel as if your knowledged enough to grow them then don't fret to much i used to freak out about every little thing when i got my first VFT's, I believe you'll do fine just wait for the warm summer months, and they'll grow very well. just keep them warm for now in a southern window, and always keep them wet, never allow them to dry out completely , too much humidity will also kill them so make sure your terrarium is well ventilated , please keep in touch, i want to see pictures of your updates, and if any problems occur, PM me -Wayne-

Hmmm I thought my disclaimer would be enough, and that my first post in this thread was pretty much on the mark- WAY more light (IE outside and don't worry about the humidity as I was attempting to imply from both the Bancroft AND Bracebridge mentions) and maybe try cutting the flower stalks off. I elaborated in my second post saying that it was likely flowering due to lack of either sufficient cool temps OR (and this was not even implied so I'm adding it now) insufficient decrease in the photoperiod (tho I'm leaning toward the former here judging solely from the pic) Helpful advice would be what you've already declined, put the damn thing outside in a tray and make sure that animals don't get to it first I was merely trying to phrase "newbie advice" in a way that pleased me and even went so far as to add a disclaimer stating that I was only goofing- tone-wise, what I stated in my above post was true, the plant is either at deaths door or very happy, it needs light and tons of it AND a more proper dormancy next year Sorry for the essay but I expect a certain decorum, moderator or not
