very cool! i had that happen to my capensis once, if you don't want seed and you do want a bigger plant (due to the plant not putting energy into the flower and in the plant instead) you could cut it, and plant it standing up with the traps at the surface, and maybe it'll throw down some roots somewhere along the stem?! i am JUST about to try this, the stalks are just not long enough yet... BONNE CHANCE!

I am still waiting for this to happen to one of my plants. In the photos I've seen it seems to happen most frequently with Dente plants. You should be able to take the part of the flower stalk with traps and plant it to get a new plant. I have snipped flower stalks and planted them numerous times to get new plants, but I've not had the opportunity to try it with False Vivipary. If you want to read about the flower stalk propagation method, look for it here: www.flytrapcare.com/propagation-of-venus-fly-traps.html

well petmantis, I'm gonna pull out the babies , ... , yes, the... adult size babies, and if you want one, we can make an exchange, your from Laval, and I'm from Vaudreuil-Dorion, I think it's genetics, so the clone must do the same in hte future...?

WOW Is there a way to induce that kind of behavior? Cutting or notching the flower stalk? Leny

to induce it, I cant tell, the only thing I know is that I treat her for aphid in October 2008... but it was a soft chemical, so I cant tel from where it comes.... It actually seems to appears on Dentate, not on Typical
