I like it! I wish I had a 'secure' area outside where kids wouldn't try and destoy my plants if they get to them

I am so jealous of all your Nepenthes haha. I wanted to get a truncata 'Queen of hearts x King of Spades' so bad but I read everywhere that it is a highlander and I'm not buying any yet. I going to move to Victoria BC next year and then I'lll just be able to grow highlanders outside for most of the year.
How has you truncata been doing?

The people that have been growing them report that they do fine in lowland conditions. Folks are growing them in Singapore without any problems. They also grow quite well as an intermediate. And then some growers have reported that their highland truncata aren't as happy in pure highland conditions. They seem to perform better in warmer temps.
It sounds like BE is going to release some more of these black truncata, most likely as cloned plants, so you will still have a chance at getting one.

Are there any success stories of black truncatas grown in highland conditions? I'm growing mine as a highland, and I'm wondering if I'm negatively affecting its growth.

Well, let's just put it this way: if you were to give it warmer temps, it probably wouldn't do it any harm, and it might even prefer it.

C 12, Oh man that sucks, I so would have bought one then. I really hope one comes up now, there is one ebay that ends in 8 hours but he doesn't ship to Canada. I'll be keeping my eye out for anything now and if anyone is parting with theirs at anytime just let me know lol but like that would ever happen.
That good to know that its not a strict highlander, the more I read about highlanders the more people say they can acclimatize to intermediate and lowland conditions, what have you found for this?

Hey everyone! Well lets see, my truncata is doing quite well, it opening a leaf made in my care, and should start inflating. Its seems really hardy! I have mine in the HL terrarium! My other neps are great too, N. Inermis is just about finished inlfating a pitcher in my care
