Does anyone know how to germinate Drosera madagascariensis seeds? I bought a few today from rareexoticseeds.

Just scatter the seed over your favourite drosera growing mix, keep wet and wait, and PRAY. I say this because I purchased 12 varieties of seed from rareexoticseed.com and only had successful germination for one or two species after giving them six months to get started.
In contrast, I got seed from the OCPS seedbank this past summer (D. natalensis, anglica and regia) and have had GREAT results with them.
Definitely worth the membership if you don't have one yet.

I already have the membership and requested 3 times without any luck. Well, maybe I'll wait.

Yeah I am with Rick on the rare exotics thing. I bought a ton of seeds from him and so far no takers on germination. Unfortunate really since he would have a good thing going if the seeds were viable everytime. Message Syble to get seeds from the seed bank!

My D. madagascarensis from RER actually germinated but only 3 sseds. Took quite a few months too. Sadly I have had limited success with RER.

Well I guess everyone is busy so requests for seeds are still pending. I actually just tried D. Mad from Rare Exotics coz it's cheap but I mainly ordered 2-100 seeds of tropicals from them. I hope some of the seeds germinate, not expecting hundreds of them coz my house will be a jungle hehe. Thanks guys!

Well I'm glad to hear it isn't just my lousy technique. I ordered oodles of seeds from Rare Exotics earlier this year and only one batch of Drosera germinated. Not a signle ping came through.

I too ordered quite a few Drosera seed from RES earlier this year. I couldn't get any of his D. burmanni to germinate, but his D. sessifolia were good. All the others only had none to only a few come up and I was sowing a hundred seed per pot. ) When I try to germinate Mexican ping seed, I just float the seed in a glass of water, covered with some kitchen wrap. I put the glass under some lights and check the glass every cuple of days. When you see a little bit of green coming from a seed, remove that seed and transplant it into your preferred medium. I have had very good germ results with this technique.

Nice technique for the ping seeds.
D. sessifolia is like a weed.
