Hi guys and gals, I just bought 8 crickets (1/2 inch) [he gave around 10 or so] and 4 wax worms for my plants. I want to try varying up with wax worms instead of just crickets. However, the nep is only getting wax worms. I don't want the cricket to jump out of the nep . I was wondering what everyone else here feeds their plants. I know most of you guys have plants outside which feed to their heart's content. What about those in greenhouses and inside terrariums?? cheers, varun

I use Betta food pellets to feed most stuff, crush them up for pings (and Drosera too, I guess, if I felt like feeding them) and just drop 'em into Cephs and Neps Drosera, in my collection at least, tend to catch enough by themselves

Because we also have a pair of Bearded Dragons that have a voracious apetite, we purchase crickets in lots of one thousand and silkworms in lots of a several hundred.
Invariably some of the insects will die and I feed my neps these before they dry out.
The drosera and pings catch fungus gnats and fruit flies whenever they appear.

well...I certainly found a growth burst whenever I feed my plants once in a month. Insectivore....try giving them a few bugs and notice the changes. But if u haven't EVER fed them recently....it might take a couple of months of feeding (once in a month intervals) to notice the changes. As I posted in my interesting observations thread....I notice that the traps are larger...redder....stronger in digesting food. Think about this..why would u want to waste energy making perfect traps if you are not even being fed....thats what VFT's seem to be doing.

They don't need to be fed, but afterall they are incetivores! they've evolved over time to get their nutirents from their "prey". Some plants benifit better then others, I deal mostly with fish foods. I've been testing quite a variety of them and have gotten some good, and some interesting result, sometimes both! 90% of the feeding I do is fishfood, the other 10% comes from like rick said, casualties of having pets that require live food, or unfortunate house pests...oh then theres the fungus gnats Thanks, Sib
