In taxonomical term, when a genus name (example: Drosera) can be followed by:
-sp. = mean that the species hasn't been defined or described yet, or might be an unknown species. You'll often come across plants named sp when a grower lost its tags, and sometimes in the case of a plants from a known locality, the name of this locality will follow the sp. Example: Drosera sp 'Botswana'
-ssp. = mean that we're talking about a subspecies, like in Drosera filiformis ssp filiformis and Drosera filiformis ssp tracyi
-spp = When we're talking about several species in the same genus, or englobing all the plants in the genus.
In your case, it appears to me that it has been labelled as the grower didn't knew the exact Id of the plant... Could you post us a picture?
