I can't find anyone else that does. Does anyone in this forum have any ?

Anthony

Unless you're doing TC, I would suggest looking for a plant, the seeds take a LOOOOONG time to become anything much and they seem to be prone to damp-off and just up and dying. I will hopefully have some kind of new Cephs within a year, once I get enough confidence to make a pulling or two off mine

You can do it !! Cut, Cut, Cut. Thanks, keep me in mind I will take one. ;D I see them for sale ( plant ) in the US and UK etc..., but none of the canadian CP sites carry them. Where did you get your ? and how long would you say with the right conditions will it take to germinate ? cheers, Anthony

Well, I got seeds from a member here, but they failed LARGE
The plant, no joke, I really don't know exactly where it came from (not being smart here, it's true, I just ended up with it thanks to another member here) but they ARE available if you know where to look or who to BEG for one... I have some pretty big winter leaves left on mine, gonna pul one or two in the next days once I get my more urgent re-potting done, keep yer fingers crossed!!

Cephalotus are sort of small plants so I hate to pull the leaves off. However the non-pitcher leaves are fairly easy. I just try to pull the whole leaf off and bury the whole stalk and a little bit of the base in the same pot. Usually I get a little plant in 1-2 months.

I plan to visit an old CP colleague ... and I know he grows ceph by the flatfull, with many in multi gallon pots ...with different Ceph variants. If I can snag a few flats back to BC, I'll see to it that the cephs find new homes in Canada.
Also check the ICPS seedbank. Earlier this year they had over 40 packets of ceph seeds available at nominal cost. You must be a member though.

They (seeds) are 2 years old. Any chases to germinate those?

Consider me BEGGING!!!
I had a healthy plant a while ago that I repotted into some new peat moss. Turned out that the peat moss was "mofified" to change the pH, as well as having a trace amount of fertilizer added to it. This stuff even killed D. capensis and D. adelae.
I've been trying to locate a plant for a few years to no avail.
If anyone ever does have a spare, please keep me in mind!

Why all the hype with the cephs? I find helis much more hard to find and much more appeasing, but that is just a matter of taste. ;D
Anywho, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a ceph either. Seeing there in such hight demand, why don't we organize a group buy to ship a few of these guys to Canada. I'm sure quite a few forum members are knowledgable about customs and the legal side. Then again, I am concerned of such fragile plants being held back by customs, so maybe a group buy for seeds is more appropriate. Maybe we should ask around on the US and EU forum to see if they recommend any good vendors that will sell fresh ceph seed.

Maybe forum member Biollante might be able to point someone in the right direction, IIRC he had some for sale in the spring/summer, BIG ones from what I saw- Zac got one and posted a pic and it was pretty darn impressive but I don't know what he was charging- perhaps getting in touch with him would be a good idea, since I don't see him around much

I'm planning to get into TC early this winter, trying to round up all the materials. When I do, my first project will be to multiply some ceph. explants. Hopefully it will work. Strangely the hardest thing to find so far is a 15 psi pressure cooker in the Toronto area. I may have to order one on the net.

Llyod I found the pressure cooker I was using for TC at home hardware. It must of been on the shelf forever, the box was discolored.
You might want to check out some smaller hardware stores. These cookers are huge and sold for canning. They are not the typical small unit you find at Canadian Tire.
