Haha it's absoltutly SO true...
After 8 years in the hobby I can't count the number of really nice CPer getting off of the hobby, loosing knowledgeable people and great trading partner... If if it wasn't the effort from my girlfriend, a e-mail from Sib and a few others, I would have quit last fall... The missing of a 'tangible' CP scene in Canada don't help much: hard to find CPer, plants getting quite rare and hard to find others than the ones from Colasantis Farm, and even langage can be a bareer in some case... I think my oldest CP 'relation' still in the hobby is Lloyd Gordon...
I had placed a lot of plants a year ago before I began my moving cycle to a few thrustworthy cpers, and when I tried to find them back 2 years ago, I realized that most have quit the hobby and plants as well... Too bad, I had a very nice Heli hetederoxa x minor placed in BC which is nowhere to be found... A lot of people are coming back/disappearing too: Brian Tran and Chris Fieger are both is this group, that I would like to see more often... And some quit 'definatly' apparently, as Tim malcolm...
Pretty hard hobby haha. I've recently saw a great interest in Quebec city, I hope to be able to reach a few new comer in the hobby. I was glad to see when I lost a lot of plants this summer that a few of my contacts and long trading partners still had a few of them and were willing to share with me, which is definatly the reason of existence of a nice and healthy 'CP scene': to share 'back-ups' and protect the very few diversity we have access in Canada. If it wouldn't have been of this, I would have lost hope to see back a lot of my plants... and a lot of new plants haha.
