October 6, 2005 ......... Placed on-line order for one Ceph- cost was $25.00 plus$6.00 shipping=$31.00 U.S.
October 7, 2005..........Paid additional $40.00 as Cooks had advised needed physosanitary certificate for the Ceph to be exported/imported.
October 14, 2005 Called Cooks as nothing new. Was advised that the order was being held as their prior shipment to Canada was held up and Cooks wanted to find out why before sending next shipment.
November 22, 2005 Cooks advised via e-mail that they had worked out the bugs on prior shipment. Apologized for delay in shipping. Scheduled to ship on Monday Nov 28th. I replied asked for costs for 2nd Ceph.
November 26, 2005 Added to order and paid another$38.49....added a P. Moranensis, D. Aliciae and D. Adelae and second Ceph plant.
November 27th....e-mailed Cooks re: please swith the D. Adelae for a D. Capillaris.
November 28, 2005... Cooks advised via e-mail that the had already packed the order, would have made change but the Capillaries did not look their best so left in the Adelae.
Dec 13/05 E-Mailed Cooks as nothing rec'd or heard.
Rec'd reply- plant inspection place was closed for a few days so plants had been returned to Cooks. Shipment just went out for second try. Was provided with a tracking number. I e-mailed Cooks as concerned if plants in box the whole time- two weeks. Cooks advised the plants were shipped out and returned as address of inspection place had changed. As live plants were returned to Cooks....said they put them under grow lights before reshipping.
December 19, 2005 Cooks advised that box came back from plant inspection place as plants may have frozen while waiting for inspection. Cooks was going to wait a few weeks (as we were having a cold spell) and would then reship for third shipping attempt.
December 20, 2005 Added a P. Jamauvensis to my order. Asked Cooks to let me know additional costs.
January 1, 2006 e-mailed Cooks as have not heard anything.
January 12, 2006 Called and l/m on Cooks machine.
February 6, 2006 LMTC on machine
Plants were received February 14th having been inspected February 1, 2006 for physosanitary certificate (date of signature of certificate). Cooks had sent me an e-mail that they had been shipped. I got all seven plants ordered and they were in decent shape. The D. Capillaries had suffered but is coming back...I'll post some pictures when I can. They left in the D. Adelae for free.
My thought is the Cooks ultimately comes through. You can phone them and leave messages on machine and e-mail them as well. I think they do the best they can but definately do not reply to e-mail or phone messages as quickly as they could (or should).
So my guess is you'll get you plants. Just keep asking them the status of your order- When did you place it and what did you order?
P.S. The above is for what I kept e-mail copies or notes on....there were additional e-mails and phone calls to Cooks about order status but I did not track the dates etc so not noted above....
