Very nice plants.
That species is one of several I would love to try someday.
Am I correct in recalling they need to be kept really dry during dormant phases to avoid root rot?
Have you had them flower for you yet?
I'd love to try crossing filafolia w esseriana, emarginata, or laueana.
Let me know if you every want to try a trade to attempt some cross-breeding.

for this specie I use a gypsum media ( gypsum /river sand 50/50 )
yes for the dormancy (october to may) this filiform species like the others filiform ( except moctezumae) just remain strictly dry.
sometimes I have flower ,It is not systematic
filifolia is a cuban specie very very difficult to grow , I have never been able to maintain them here more than 2 seasons, 'in situ' their condition of life is quite particular, hence the problem.
