Seymour, not to be a wet rag on your project but do consider the attractiveness of your construction to mice and other rodents. Ontario gets the odd nasty day when they will be strongly motivated to move it. Any wiring left unprotected will be nibbled. You need serious grounding and perhaps a GFI to keep risks to the minimum.
My deck outlets are gfi protected. My plan was to add another outlet and put it in the ceiling of the underside of the deck. It would be 4ft off the ground then. I have never seen a mouse on my deck but you know what they say "if you build it they will come" lol.
Grackle got a point. We have mice problem here since a few years. When Winter comes, they are really looking for heat source. They squatted the underside of my bigger pots %?&%?& blocking the exit with mineral wool. The exterminator told me they can easily reach the second floor of a bricked walls building. They also chew on my car electric wires. Nasty things but I'm able to keep them outside by blocking every tiny hole with mastic. You should be alright if your assembly is tight.
More reasearch is deffinately required. I want it to match the deck so it looks like it belongs there. It also has to last a long time. And obviously serve all my needs for the plants. Construction wont start until its nice out so i have lots of time to think. If anyone has construction ideas to share please feel free. And thanks to all for your input thus far. It has been great.

...I think exposed, like on your deck, creates problems with freezing. In the ground and covered for winter is what I'm contemplating for next winter. Really sick of moving my plants inside, WAY TOO MUCH WORK!!! Good luck!
I have decided to keep my bog simple for this year as its my first attempt. It is still 100 percent temprate so i can move the whole thing to a non heated garage or cold cellar for the winter. Here's a quick photo of it. I got the design from one of Brads YouTube videos (Brads Greenhouse) The plants came from Willy except for the patch of vft seedlings. Thx to all for the help. Im hoping that in the future I can build a permanent bog that I won't have to move. Time will tell I suppose.
