...very nice, some Amanita Citrina in there, poisonous. Definitely not Amanita Cesaria, delicious. Sorry to see 'The King' is absent in your pics. I'm going up for a mushroom trip next week, hope to meet up with him. Sharp pics, thanks for posting them. Cheerio!

Thank you AV!! Your knowledge of fungi is very impressive. I kinda got obsessed with taking pictures of them, even though I got eaten alive by mosquitos while trying to get a good shot, lol. I had no idea what species I was taking pictures of, so I bought myself a field guide to mushrooms at the visitors centre on my way home. I find them very fascinating!! What is the "King"?! Hope you enjoy your trip, and hope you post some pics when you get back.

...well, the King would be (we should bow down now), Boletus Edulis. I started a Boletus Edulis thread in the Fungi section, check it out! Truffles aside, these are the most prized among mushroom hunters, myself included. Their taste is (don't wanna use this word but will anyway), divine! I totally agree with you when you say fascinating, I am convinced they are magical as well. I have proof!

PS - ...oh yeah, I'm holding one in my right hand in my profile pic.
