Put off repotting my villosa for a year due to me being afraid it would kill it. I'm definitely not a nepenthes person, I have two LOL Over time, it had entangled itself and buried pitchers in the surrounding Heliamphora Finally it's health and the health of the surrounding Heliamphora required action. Luckily, she didn't even hiccup and is actively growing again Cell phone pics taken a few moments ago: woot woot! Av

I don't know, professor. Looks like you grow Nepenthes just fine to me. Nice plant, sir! I've heard that species is particularly fuzzy when it comes to night time lows. True fact?

I know that they are known for that, but mine see no temp drop. None of my plants do.

She has grown quite a bit if I do say so :-) Thank you, I know it has a reputation for being difficult. I'm just fortunate the two Nepenthes I have seem to like my Heliamphora conditions :-P Neither one gets any special treatment. You're my nep grower of distinction guru

Looks amazing. This just goes to show that us growers should try to acclimate plants to our growing conditions rather then mimic every micro-climate for specific species (not saying it's bad to do so, there are amazing growers who have out-worldly plants who do this).

You're my nep grower of distinction guru lol! haha mate... you are clearly doing better at them than me. YOu have always focused on growing them in tough hardy conditions than the softer conditions I grow my plants in. That is the true way to grow them to great sizes. I have still much to learn from you m8.

Varun, you underestimate yourself buddy. I dont think you need any advice to grow your neps, you are pretty talented. In fact, ive seem some of your plants that looked much more beautyful and spectacular than the old pictures shown here. You are a amazing grower, a outstanding photographer, and a terrarium jedi.

Incredible! Just goes to show you that you don't have to be a 'Master Grower' to grow amazing nepenthes.Thank you for the boost of confidence!

Too much praise...but it was my dear friend Butch here who was the one who taught me how to properly consider the conditions and grow plants... we go way back from around 2007. I used to always grow things in wet media with mostly sphagnum. B taught me that having an open media is the way to grow these plants...and his advice has allowed me to grow everything from cephs to neps and helis (I still need to learn much from both of you masters here... my heli growing still requires lots of improvement). I cannot take credit for things that I have learnt from the amazing CP community and all the advice they have shared. I wouldn't be able to grow or even have the plants I have without all the amazing friends here and elsewhere. I still have issues having plants growing long term. The true test comes now... I am currently still away in India... once I go home... I need to repot my large neps into fresh media and clean up the tank. The plants are squeezed into the tank and need some room to breathe and grow. This is when I have lost plants like a N. villosa from BE that I grew to about 6" diameter from a 1cm small plant. Fingers crossed.
