I looked back at my order and if I had checked the price I was quoted I would have realized it was off by the list price of a couple items. I looked at what I got and it is actually what I paid for with the exception of the pulchella that was a mixup on the suppliers part. I donate my pulchella refund to compensate for additional costs incurred to Maiden and will not accept a refund beyond that.

Those who have fatalities directly related to importation, like customs problems, or shipping(travel) time because of customs, are the risks of importation. I can ask wistuba for a refund, but i cannot cover this myself, this story already cost me around 1200$.
All members who had missing plants or missing order has been refunded.

Not that I want to downplay anyone's losses or the effort involved but honestly this is how group orders go. This is in no way Maidens fault, group orders just turn into a shit show when so many people join, mistakes get made, communication between a dozen people can be a completely mess and the timing can never work for everyone.
A tip to everyone thinking of joining a group order: if your order is more then 200 bucks, just do it yourself. Importing plants is really not that hard. 35 bucks gets you an import permit for 3 years. After that just suck it up and pay for the phyto and shipping. Vendors are far more likely to respond to you directly and if you loose a plant they are more likely to replace it on your next order. You also earn a relationship with that vendor and future orders go very smooth.
The plants will arrive right to you, this saves time for plants being in transit, money on the extra shipping and the headache of communication on both ends.
If you really feel the need to save a couple bucks on permits and import shipping, ask 1-2 close members if they want to join, preferably someone you personally know, can talk to in person and live within driving distance so you don't have to ship the plants again. You can then divide the price by the amount people order and dealing with 1 or 2 extra people is manageable.
Over the years if people just went with their own import rather then joining a group order, they would have saved so much money and heartache from all the plants they lost.
I also want to add that having received plants numerous times from both Wistuba and BCP, Wistubas plants are SOFT they need much more TLC and more often then not can't handle the extra time in shipping. BCP plants are MUCH more hardened and even the crappy rootless plants usually do fine. Both companies are great and their strengths but people need to know these things before ordering.
Once again I'm not trying to direct this at anyone or downplay the crappy situation I just wanted to throw out my 2 cents to let future members decide on what to do.

It sucks to hear about everyones issues. Most of the issues were out of control of the organizer what with customs canada and Wistuba mixing up everyone's orders:|. My order was small about 5 plants. Thought I'd post some pics. They are a little rough around the edges but there is hope and I'm hoping they will recover well. I'll start with the worst one H. Angisima. Wistuba sent this instead of a H.pulchella. I was looking forward to a "hairy" Heli but oh well. I am holding out that this one might throw up a new shoot . Next up: Heterdoxa Ionasii. Still looks the same as when it arrived. Hasn't declined in health so things are looking good. Weirdest growth pattern not sure what caused it it's growing out rather than up O.o H. Minor Auyan. The plant that arrived in the best condition. Really happy with this one! humidifier kicked in as I took the pic so it looks foggy . has a new pitcher coming up since i got it! N. Ovata that didn't look too good when it arrived when it arrived but it's putting out a new leaf . This one will be fine for sure. And the entire highland "setup". It's in in my basement for the cold night temps, controlled by a zoomed hygrotherm and LED grow lights: I am still a noob with Heli's so I'm hoping this setup works for them Hah! just noticed the lady bug in the last pic no idea how it got into the tent!!!

I have to agree with you. I was in both group orders and the BCP plants were in better condition when they arrived. Also I didn't know the permits were only $35!!! I always thoguht it would be super difficult to get them Just want to say a big Thank You for the effort Maiden has put into this order! I am happy with my plants

I didn't know the permits were only $35!!! I always thoguht it would be super difficult to get them You're pretty much guaranteed to get a permit if you apply for it, 35 bucks, takes about 20 minutes to fill out, and you get the permit a couple days later. Super easy.

Wow.
Ok. Some people just dont understand some very basic points in life, and i think its the case here.
Next time i will not refund your missing plants, and you will deal directly with Wistuba. I said next time... i think it will be never, because its the last time i will deal something here.
I cant beleive you came here for crying.
This story cost me around 2000$, headashes, sleepless nights, and i didnt order a plant myself.
Now i will explain something you guys just dont understand. On a group order, i dont import plants. YOU are importing plants using MY permit. Period.
And yes i was stupid enough to refund you all, with my own money, all the missing plants.
In the next few days, i will study the possibility to recover some of the money, the legal way.
It was my last post on this forum.

I'm sure I speak for everyone here. Everybody understands that foreign orders are difficult and everybody knows it hurts to lose money and plants. We don't want to lose good members. I'm sure there's some way to deal with this, although it doesn't immediately come to mind so early in the morning.

Import plants is like a gamble. Sometime you win, sometime you lose. When I jump into an order, I always do it thinking that I will perhaps loose my money.
I dealed with Maiden in the past. Even in troubled moments, he has always be a professionnal dealer. If there's something feasible, he will do it.
For respect, I think some disputes could have been dealt in PM rather than on the front place.
Good luck buddy.

I for one wouldn't like to see anyone go, both of you guys are great contributing members and our community in Canada is already small enough. I would love if you guys would reconsider leaving, even if members agree to disagree. edwards7, I apologize if my post came off as anything negative towards you, I never intended that and only wanted to inform other for future orders. I hope others will clarify this as well. I don't think people think of you as an enemy at all, I think a lot of people wanted to put in their 2cents on the subject and much of it came out negative. Maiden, I really do hope you are able to recoup your money or Wistuba can make things right with you, you don't deserve to loose any money through this. As for all future posts in this thread, keep it positive please.

I agree with that. Like you said, for my parts (my two cents), I wished to share my past experience. And also, that if it was me, I would have felt better trying to settle all the issues in private ...
