I'd really love to have a colony of ants living in my Myrmecodia. Probably not while the plants are still in my bedroom, but someday I'd like to determine if one of the smaller native species (maybe Lasius or Crematogaster) could form a colony in a plant.

Update on the flower situation - sure looks like my M. solomonensis is producing berries after all this time. A whole bunch of them, coming from the stem where the flowers originally emerged. I'll update with pics once things become more clear as to what is going on.

Can I join in the picture posting? I have a M. solomonensis too and it's already produced many berries.

Sure, I'd love to see what yours look like so I can have a better idea of when to harvest mine!

I grow my plants in a tent in my garage in Washington state and so far two of my plants have colonies of ants. There's more to these plants and their relationship with ants than meets the eye. I have no idea how the ants found these plants in my tent.

That's neat, you should take videos of the ants coming in and out.
