I ran out of my generic Aurora Roxi T5HO 54 watt 48" 6400K lights. I've heard so much about Sunblaster that I said, Ok, I'll try an order. The delivery was the same. However the generics were around $4 and the Sunblasters were around $12. I measured the PAR right next to the middle of the bulb after warm-up. The measurement is in mv and not PAR but anyway, it was exactly the same for a new bulb of each, 257 mv. So in light output while new, the generics are a lot cheaper and just as good. I do have a feeling that the Sunblasters last longer before serious dimming. I'll label an Aurora and then a Sunblaster and try to keep track.
In the meantime, maybe buy generic and save some money.

It will be interesting to see the results of this experiment.

Thank for this info Lloyd.
Also, maybe the qualité control is better on the SB. This time, the generic and SB are the same but it would be interesting to know for a whole batch of T5.

So far all my generic bulbs are the same PAR as noted.
