So this past week I received a package containing around 80 packets of various succulent/ mesemb seeds. I thought that i'd do a little grow log on this thread for these seeds as I sow them over the next few weeks!

What medium are you using? I'm planning on a mix of turface - silica sand - fine gravel - perlite - and some peat. (in order from most to least)

I'd go a little higher on the soil in that mix. Many of the mesembryanthemum growers recommend something that is 50/50 soil and grit. When you do water them, you want some to stay around for a bit, rather than run straight through.

I've only grown a few plants from this family before so I don't have too much experience.

It came from Mesa Garden out of Belen, New Mexico, a company I have ordered from many times before. How is Steven Brack doing? Best of luck with your seeds! dvg

I got some of his Melocactus seeds last year, and they did pretty well so I'm going to be sowing some more seeds this year!

Wow! I haven't been here in a long time! I did not anticipate being so flooded with school, repotting, and all of the new plant orders that came in, which means that I also forgot to sow the seeds . My last exam is on Friday so I'll be back on track with this project soon
