Understand totally. Just making a suggestion for future auctions . And again, this is just my opinion, I don't expect people to have to agree I'd just hate it if I was bidding well over a hundred bucks for something and got out bid by a buck. Maybe if nobody knew one another but the community is pretty tight knit , personally I wouldn't outbid by less than 5bucks, that's just me though. Also , I'm not hating on you for your bid Justin. I just see opportunity to suggest something please don't take offence , it's not my intention

I'm sure no offense was taken. I can see how losing an auction over such a small increment could get under some peoples skin and cause conflict, I'll make the bid increments proportionate to the plants overall value in the future. Warning: adult language!

I agree that the one dollar thing is a little lame but what kills me more is people that snipe, I hate people that come in at the last second and try to steal it (not saying that was done here, just ranting) I like auctions that extend 15 minutes after a bid, that way the auction doesn't end until there hasn't been a bid for 15 minutes. Maybe add this to your next one too Cole, it'll make you more in the long run

Hi bonfield - I'm sure you'll get loads of interest; your plants are beautifully grown! Seriously, really nice plants! That said, the Polish site is rather on the steep side, especially considering the prices of comparable plants available elsewhere. I mean seriously, Nepenthes burkei for $49?! I bought a comparably sized one last summer for $19. Though admittedly, Wistuba is asking people to pony up €20, but still.

Thank you! I'm also amazed at what some places are charging, it's especially crazy to see what final prices that ebay vendor has been getting when I checked their feedback profile!

...just thought I'd chime in...I know that keeping prices down is in everybody's best interest, except for the person selling. Sometimes though, I think the price should be higher just because the plant or the grower deserve it! Paying $100 for a D. Capensis is probably not right, having said that, paying $5 for a Pilosa isn't right either. Let's not lowball ourselves. Cheers. AV.

Hi Bonield - Yes, eBay is an interesting beast. I know folks who constantly have insane bidding wars, while other expert growers rarely get a bid for the same species. I think there is a bit of building a following on eBay. If you have one, you can get unreasonable sums for often just fair plants. If you don't, and they can be hard to develop, you can offer some of the most incredible plants in the world and see nothing. I'm guilty too. Who wants to search eBay all the time? I just check in with vendors I like. I am definitely part of the problem. Anyhow, I enjoyed seeing the N. lingulata you offered. Because I am in the States, I can't really bid. But it's great to get to see such happy specimen! Looking forward to seeing what you'll put up next.

Sorry I'm a little behind in my replies, the laptop came in this morning, but so did a large plant order, so I'm catching up with a few things.
I think that the most important thing to remember is that no one needs a repeat of the Dutch tulip crash, lol.

I like the reference to the tulip crash and the new avatar. Cole for the win!

I have 3 of your seedgrown lingulatas, one which appears to be the pure species and two others which seem to be the natural hybrid N. jamban X lingulata. All three are very pretty and dark, truly a pride to have in my collection. A specimen of this size is worth every penny no doubt!

Thanks! The link to my old avatar wasn't working, so I had to just choose something, and Spaceballs was just one movie I never got tired of no matter how many times I've seen it. I still laugh at the John Hurt cameo every time.
I did have a sowing that turned out to be hybridized, I've since sorted them into their proper labels. I'm pretty happy about that since it's just more variety, and it's great to hear that people are proud of the plants I've grown, thank you!
