So I finally have something to take pictures of and share. Planted some VFT seedlings from whatcom that are now about 4 weeks out, in LFS alone here which provided best results compared to my peat/perlite mix. D burmanii seedling D capensis seedlings I was in the GTA recently and got a chance to pick up my first real plants (VFT and nepenthes). I got two VFT that looked half decent and repotted them. They had really good red coloration on the trap leaves and cilia, not certain if this is typical or some other form? Will be propagating the flower stalks. and from these two plants I was able to isolate 7 seedlings and repot and to round things off I grabbed a nepenthes - exact species? Anyhow, looking forward to more growth and will try to have follow up pics at a later date… This summarizes my entire collection so far, but I expect more to come in the next few weeks. Cheers

I third what Gabriel said! I have a feeling most typical VFT's sold at local stores are the "Vigorous" clone. Here's a pic: www.vftshop.com/images/bigPics/vigorsm.jpgProbably safer not to label it "Vigorous", though. There are so many clones out there that it makes identifying most plants nearly impossible.

...Willy, D. Burmanii grows like a weed in my set up in the summer. You probably got bad seeds.

Nice pics RuBisCO! Your Nepenthes is the ubiquitous Nepenthes x ventrata, a cross made between N. ventricosa and N. alata... ...easy to grow in the house and quite rewarding as well if it is happy. cpphotofinder.com/nepenthes-x-ventrata-1902.htmldvg

Thanks everyone! Thanks for clarification on the VFT Devon and on the nepenthes dvg.
I think I will try to track individuals on a grow log, I have some more growth on those and some colourful dew starting on a pot of seedling D. aliciae that came on since yesterday. I may just start a thread in the drosera section now.
I really want to expand aggressively this spring with various plants. Great way to combine photography hobby too.
Cheers!

Update on little ones.... Here are some new photos of the little guys that I separated out from the original two plants purchased at Sheridan... they are colouring up nicely compared to prior shots just after repotting (in a 2 inch pot). (taken with iPhone this round)

...hey Rubisco (I don't know what that means, not a chemistry guy). Nice growth and colour on those store bought VFT's, also, a grow log thread is nothing unless it is updated, thanks for that. I can help you expand your Flytrap collection if you'd like, PM me. Cheers!
