Hi all - My long brewing plan to set up a 75 gal aquarium as a misting tank for my epi utrics is slowly but slowly looking like it will get closer to happening soon. I've got to drill a hole in the bottom of the glass to fit a bulk head drain (fingers crossed it's not tempered glass). But as I look forward, I need to have parts on hand to setup the sprayers. I plan on dropping a pump of some sort into a hard walled tote, and then using another tote as the drain bin (that water will then get used in my other setups - but only one cycle through the sprayers for gear of clogging them). Here is my question, what sprayer nozzles and pumps are folks using? Right now, I am prepping to set up a low pressure system for my tuberous dews this summer while they are dormant. I'm going to use standard Active Aqua submersible hydroponics pump, drip irrigation line, and then these adjustable sprayers: www.dripworks.com/product/Q_MSPI imagine I need a higher pressure pump for finer sprayers, and I am curious if folks with nice takes have recommendations for that and which nozzles they have fund to be best. Thanks so much for the input!

I only run RO water through my misting system, but I fertilize separately with a little 1 gallon sprayer. This method has been working well. The reservoir at the bottom of my tank is aerated, so the mildly fertilized water (around 50ppm) is really great to use for house plants, seedlings, and to water the plants inside the terrarium (until the ppm gets too high). I still hand water often, as I've toned back my misting a bit in order to keep a slightly drier environment. I've been using the Mistking system and I quite like it.

I've a few tuberous sundews growing this year and they are doing really well in room humidity (high 20's) under T5HO's. Low to normal room temperature.

I've used two systems, at work we use a large high pressure system that creates a very fine fog. Great for humidification and cooling but not good for watering. The company we get our stuff from is called MEC systems. The individual misting heads can be rigged into your own system. www.mecsystems.com (The front page photo is from our work) The system I used at home is Mist King. Mediocre for just humidity because it adds a fair amount of water but great for automatically misting for watering plants and adding humidity. Don't bother with the starter system, you'll only want to upgrade. The middle one "Ultimate Value" is the best, the only need for the larger one is if you're doing a huge area or multiple setups. www.mistking.comI'll take some pictures in the next couple days and show you how both systems work. Maybe I'll try to take a couple videos.

Hi Avery - Thanks for the information! As I've mentioned here before, yours is one of the tanks I would like to emulate - if not ripoff the design outright. Sounds like the system you recommended can work as a primary watering source with a good timer. Hi Lloyd - Totally agree that tuberous dews can do very well in low humidity. Mine are rarely above 30%RH and they look great (if I do say so myself). The mist system will be for my epi utrics. I'm building a sprinkling system for my tuberous dews to auto water them, and allow good flushing of nutrient/salt build up, which seems to help the more finicky species. Hi H2O - I'm familiar with the foggers from my time in Arizona, and from conservatory settings. You are correct, that's not exactly what I am going for here. I want this to be the primary watering regime for my plants in the tank. It's part of my push to automate more of the care of my plants - a necessity in my life right now if I want to keep growing so many, and I do. Sounds like you also vote for MistKing with Avery. That's all I need to know! I've got the page book marked, and I'll be looking into that soon. Thanks all!
