Amanito graciously gave Lloyd a few pings in October and Lloyd passed some on to me. They were big plants that had been well-grown and had split many times so my first task was to divide them up, and of course I had a lot of dropped leaves to propagate. Here's the results. An adult P. "Weser" on the left and the babies I got from leaf pullings are on the right. They were started on October 19th. I put the leaf pullings on soil rather than paper towels or coffee filters this time and it paid off. Very few broken roots on transplant. The babies came away with a little ball of soil and I just poked a hole in the pots, dropped them in, tamped them in firmly then sprayed them to make sure the roots were in contact with the soil. A tray of trading material. The larger plants to the left and right are divisions from October 19th and the little ones in the middle are the leaf pullings. Those are "Weser" on the right and a moranensis on the left which I'm calling G2. I also have a bunch of P. gigantea.

...Wow!, great work with those Pings Hal! You obviously know what you're doing when it comes to Pings, I'm glad some went your way. I wasn't so gracious though, I did get something in return. When I didn't make DVG's N. Truncata seed give away list, Lloyd graciously offered to share some of his, Roraima did as well! Just goes to show you the great generosity among members here! As I don't really like accepting free stuff (mooch factor), I insisted a trade for the seeds. So Lloyd got the Pings as trade for the Nepenthes seeds. Those Pings by the way, all, except for the Moranensis came from Roraima. So things kind of went full circle in a weird way. When I got them, I did not label them but I do recall a Cyclosecta being in there. Maybe Guy would know better. Really impressed with your propagation talents Hal. Cheers!

Hi Hal - Nice looking plants! Honestly, with you and pings, I'm not shocked. You always have such nice plants. I aspire to to have mine look nearly as good.
Hi Ama - You don't accept anything given away. Now I feel like a mooch if I can't trade immediately. Thanks a lot. ;-)

Great looking Pings Hal.
Amanito is correct, except for the P. moranensis your plants originated from plants I sold him a couple of years ago. In addtion to the P. 'Weser' and P. gigantea, were P. 'Tina" and a bonus P. cyclosecta. It's hard to tell from here if either of those made it into your collection. FYI the P. 'Weser", P. gigantea, P. 'Tina', and P. cyclosecta are all clones from Kheen's Carnivores that I bought several years ago.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the provenance, Guy. I got a Weser, a gigantea, one labeled moranensis and one unlabelled. I think the unlabeled plant could be Tina. They're the two at the top left in the tray above. Lloyd has the cyclosecta, I believe.

...AP, no, not immediately. Roraima will be getting some TC Cephs that I got lucky with in the Spring. Another reason I insisted on trading is because I accepted both, Lloyd's and Roraima's offers, which possibly could have resulted in me getting more of DVG's Truncata seed than anyone actually on the list. Mooch factor + greed factor = bad karma. AV.

Hi amanitovirosa - That's good to hear. I don't feel so guilty now when I can repay folks immediately.
