Ah, so that's what they're called. My family fish a lot around Ontario and usually see dead ones drifting in the water in St. Catherines a couple times a year

They look a lot like another aquatic salamander called an Axolotl which stays in its larval form for it's entire life. I'm in Welland and I've never seen one but I never go down by the water anymore, also the canal is so nasty I'm not sure how well they'd do in it considering how sensitive amphibians are to pollution
