Should i be overly worried about her maybe eating a mushroom from the lawn here and there she is a big puppy 6 month old Shepard lab cross. Iv noticed a bunch of muchrooms coming up in the backyard which is super rare I try to grab them and throw them in the compost bin but is is super bad if she gets one now and than?

Yes be overly worried, unless you know they are safe, ... I wouldn't eat them. Chances are if they are toxic it's just GI problems but liver or kidney damage can't be ruled out.

Most mushrooms are actually not poisonous.. I've been studying mycoligy for the last 3 years or so and have a fair amount of experience in growing fungus myself. The issue is that it's very difficult to tell which ones are the poisonous ones. There are some ways to identify them, you could be collected and tossing a fairy ring which are fully edible and are very common on lawns. Another factor to remember is they are a fungus, they will grow in your compost so that's not the best place for them. I personally wouldn't take chances and wouldn't let my pets eat unidentified mushrooms but I would make an effort to ID them.

Right on , if you wish take one inside that has opened its cap , break the cap off and place it tin foil. The shape design and colour of the spore print that is produced will greatly help identify them.

Also some mushrooms are only toxic to some people (maybe not even all the time).
