At long last my efforts of my own hybridization have been rewarded with my long waited ex-vitro hybrid heli , it should stay this colour even get darker as its only been in low light so with higher sun light its possible !! it may get a lot darker with age ,well that's the hoping it will ,didn't want to pull this out just yet but got a contam in the jar so it had to come out , (its not the first but the first of this hybrid ).

...very impressive!!! The shape is like my H. Uncinata 'intermediate' pitcher but the colour is definitely not. Great work!

have some bad news , the plant died from coming out prematurely from some contamination and not being acclimatized right , now have perfected that acclimatization process , am growing more of these guys as we write , but there not quite looking the same colour, wouldn't you know it !! the new red heli developing with good colour H.ionasii looking well to could be a interesting plant ,grows fast to H.hetro x ionasii x foliculata

Pretty sad for the purple hybrid What was the growing parameters when it died ? In your greenhouse, no 100%RH cool terrarium? But your other ones, and your complex hybrid look very interesting. Keep us(me?) posted

just wrong time to take it out , but didn't have a choice, with contamination ,it dies from contams or dies from taking out at wrong time , ,it was going ok in the lab till i had to take it out to green house, when i though i had acclimatized it well enough in the lab, just not so ! now i do it differently and success rate is 90% or more .
yes new hybrids coming all the time , some will be just ordinary other mite be spectacular , have to wait and see

I see.
Tomorrow i will harvest h.minor var pilosa pollen; the anthers are ready to spit it out.
It is legal to send pollen to australia?

I doubt if anybody has ever thought of regulating trade in pollen. It might come under plant material for cultivation.

Ya i think the same. Anyway, sometimes the aus gov can be a surprise box, we will see. If john and me can trade some helis pollen, we will 'create' some nice and unique plants in the next few years. Edit: the pilosa anthers has been collected this morning, i have 17. I will let them dry for the next few days and i will extract the pollen. I dream about that pilosa golden pollen since years, im very pleased Creating my own heliamphora minor var pilosa seeds is a dream come true for me!

Just mail the pollen in a letter. Who would ever check?
