Due to the abuse of the edit button we've temporarily removed the option. People we're going in and changing their entire original post which was starting to create a ton of completely random threads. It's nice to have questions answered and leave those questions for the next people to read and learn from. When someone removes that question but the answers are still there is doesn't help the next person.
I'm looking into how to only remove the edit button for the people that have abused it.
If you need anything edited you can feel free to PM any of the Mods and they can fix spelling ect.

Or maybe just warn the ones who edit all the time? Everyone will pay for those 2-3 users, its sad.. My english is not good, and i like editing my posts to make grammatical corrections. Its a must for me.. /pm mods all the time will be very heavy. Edit: The edit option is still there. Edit2: I missread your (edited?) post, you will found the way to target the problematic users

I believe I made you a "staff" member when I was working out some stuff with the plant of the month. Right now only "staff" have the ability to edit.
I might be able to make a group and remove the edit option for that group. Then the members that abuse it can be put into that group.

English is my first language and I find the edit option essential

Did some more reading, I'll have to do some re-writing of the forum but I can add an option to removed the ability to edit and delete after a set amount of time. You will be able to edit/delete posts up until that time, so it we set it to 30 minutes you have that long to fix any mistakes. After this you will no longer be able to change anything.
This should give everyone a long enough time to look over their post and fix anything they missed but it will also stop users from changing their old posts.
Does this sound good to everyone?

How about a time limit on all posts or threads then the admins have the right to save it or delete it?

A 30 minute window sounds good. If you really need to change it after that, you can always contact a mod.

We are going to go with the timed option. It should be up and running in a couple of days.

Okay, read the thread....sounds like 30 minutes to edit is a reasonable option.

Ok I've added some stuff to the forum and everything should be working.
Someone want to test the ability to edit/delete posts? You should have 30 min to do so and after that you shouldn't be able to.

gerry and bonfield both brought up good points with the issue of editing posts: updating grow lists and updating sales. Seeing as there are boards for both topics, is it possible to allow edits on some boards and not others?

This is a great point!
I can look into exempting the grow list section.
For now anyone that wants to update their growlist can just copy and paste their growlist into a new post and I will edit the original post and delete the new post.
Please feel free to update you growlist as much as you want! I am more then happy to help out.
