I remember skiing in Quebec City and also Sunshine in Alberta with tons of new powder and freezing & windy. Great times ( I was in my early twenties).

Yes. A few of us went to Quebec City and drove to Mt. St. Anne every day for a long weekend. It was great skiing. There was tons of new powder and nobody there the first day as the roads were bad. We also went cross-country skiing there, very nice with the shacks as it was freezing cold and windy. I think this was around 1980. My French was so bad I ordered rognons in a Quebec City restaurant. It actually tasted pretty good after I got over the shock of seeing what I had ordered.

Jay, lucky you! I only wish parks and rec in windsor had shut down, as is I spent all of wednesday shoveling compacted snow and ice, then thursday I spent all day in forklift training, where I promptly came down with the flu, today I'm hiding in my house and trying to recover, I've not been able to keep anything down since wednesday night. Sorry to hear that Sib, lots of fluids- if you have any miso around, make a miso/ginger/garlic "cup o' soup" and that'll help, fresh garlic and ginger in there are the best- and hot pepper flakes if you can handle them, but strain them out before you drink it cos they might play havoc on your poor tummy (and don't feel bad if you don't take the suggestion, no-one ever does- I think I lose most folks at the word "miso" lol) Insectivore and Titom- glad someone is happy with the snow, I'm still sore from shovelling Jay- even LIGHTER DUTY- Bro, keep it up and you should be working from home for the Parks by spring Lloyd- don't feel bad for not knowing what rognons were, check out what I found at Wiki hereLOL there's more out there and I figured out what they indeed are, but I laughed pretty hard when I saw that page, sort of like "well yeah, I KNEW that...."

Actually I like Miso soup, I think we even have some Miso in the fridge. It would be good for someone with stomach flu. A lot of people haven't developed a taste for fresh ginger/garlic/cayenne, though. Not me though, I even eat rognons.
Get better Sib, you picked good weather to stay inside anyway.
