I'm not sure if I understand your question well. The plant took 9 day to reach you or the seller wait 9 days before shipping ?
If the travel took 9 days, it's a bit long but on a side note, oversea shipping can takes longer and if the temperature are alright on both sides, there isn't usually much trouble. I usually ask and pay for express shipping when available.
If the seller took 9 days before shipping. You should look at is engagement. We live in an era of instantaneity. Everyone want their stuff immediatly but sometime, I think people should learn to relaxe a bit. Don't take it personaly, it's a general opinion.

For Plants I know Sarracenis - 2 weeks and beyond Drosera - 1.5 weeks VFT- 1 week? Other CPs - 1-2 weeks all these can be changed depending on how the seller packages their items These are some times till the plants look "weird" But I don't know for sure on the VFTs because I don't order them

Ray makes a point that I was thinking. It all depends on what you're shipping.
I've shipped plants off to someone who gave me a wrong address and it was returned 5 weeks later. Nothing was dead, a couple plants were a little dehydrated but everything came back with out any work.
It also depends on how you ship them, if you ship them in-pot perfectly wrapped with protection to the top growth they can spend weeks in a box without any problems. If you bare root something and throw it in a damp bag it isn't going to last the week in a box.
On a similar note, when I moved all my plants a couple years ago I forgot about a large Nepenthes albomarginata that was in a box, it got put under a bench and it was out of sight out of mind after everything else was unpacked. I found the plant three months later. It was barely moist but still alive. Three of the basal growths were 6 inches long and pure white and the main vine was a stringy and half dead. I threw the plant into the greenhouse, watered it and now it's back to it's former self. Plants can handle a lot more then we give them credit for.

@h2o When I ordered 3 VF from HB last year I was niave and broke all the rules I used tap water, never heard of trays figured the window provided all the light it needed I did this for about 3 months despite reading online I was slowly killing it Then one day I had spare time, bought a LED light, repotted everything in new media and bought distilled water and followed the rules,it went nuts on me,its seamed like new growth every week Point is VFT as all CP are tough and tolerate a lot more than people credit them for I broke all the rules at first and it still grew despite my errors, but the right way by far is better for the plants Mine shocked me breaking the rules gave minimal growth then doing things the right way was like giving it steroids lol !!

I think carnivorous plants are generally pretty enduring. Personally I think 9 days for shipping isn't something to worry about unless you're getting ultra sensitive plants.

Cephs from france 5 days, 0 issues Despite what some others may say, I think cephs are actually very tolerant of being shipped. My ceph didn't take long to start growing again after shipping, though my nepenthes took their time.

My good bud in the states told me the story of the cephs he brought up from AUS. Said they had been in the box for two weeks and did't skip a beat when replanted. A really good tip he gave me was to make sure to fully soak through the new media whenever replanting... Like flood... it allows the substrate to make contact with all those little white tips that are looking for new homes.

Sometimes, if I go away for a few weeks, I think my plants would be in better hands being packed bare-root for shipping than having my friends or neighbors come over to look after them.

It took 9 days to reach me, the shipping option I chose & the customs thing so from the time it was mailed it took 9 days, so I was just wondering if I shod choose a faster shipping, for the sake of the plants health, that's all !!
yes that included weekend
