Rules:
1- One plant per entry, clearly identified.
2- The plant must be grown by the member for at least 3 months, or grown from seed by the grower.
3- The picture(s) have to be taken in the month of the contest.
4- No 'In situ' plants. Only cultivated plants.
5- Multiple pictures of the same plant can be posted, in the SAME post.
6- All entries must be clearly identified.
7- Members can POST an entry from 01/10 to 30/10 included, PST time.
8- Members can VOTE from 01/11 to 10/11 PST time.
9- The winner of each month will appear in the Hall of Fame sticky.
10- Only one (1) entry per user.

I bought (nian nian lloyd) this plant at botanix in 2010. Its a local gardening center.

I never had one for more than a few months. I found they usually went to seed and died.

Yes winter time is critical with this specie. The best(from my experience) is to water with room temperature water and keep it in a dark/cool setup, almost no light until next spring

Lovely - grown from seed? No i bought 2 lil plants in 2010. I got some seeds if you want. Its very easy to find in gardening centers, but i can send you seeds from my plants.

It's a weed for me, it pops up all over the gardens.
90% of the time they go to seed and die but I have had some plants live for 3+ years. I had a patch of these that was about 5 feet x 5 feet, kids love to touch them.
