Hey all,
This may be the first of a few Sarracenia seed giveaways I will be offering over the next little while.
The first OCPS member to correctly answer the following question will get approx +10 Sarracenia jonesii x (open pollinated) most likely self, S. leucophylla, or S. alabamensis ssp. wherryi seeds.
Based on recent phylogenetic analysis of the Family Sarraceniaceae including a 2012 paper published in PLOS one, which of the three genera/clades of the Sarraceniaceae (Darlingtonia, Heliamphora, Sarracenia) diverged first from the stem group Sarraceniaceae?
These seeds came from the S. jonesii flowers I featured in parts of my Sarracenia buds thread and were harvested today.
OCPS members only. Postage paid for Canadian residents.

Good guess Limonov, but Paul Koop is right, it's Darlingtonia.
Many view Heliamphora as the primitive member of the Sarraceniaceae but in fact the odd and amazing Darlingtonia would appear most basal and ancient.
I'll send you both seeds for participating, just send me a PM with your address.
Cheers, roraima
